How to Shape Your Companion?

Explore Custom Characteristics

Through this step by step process, explore how different characteristics shape your AI companion's personality and responses. Each example below demonstrates how changing a specific trait affects your companion's output.

A. Create the Persona

  • Navigate to dashboard and select the "New Persona" item from the side menu.
  • Enter the (required) name and a role for your companion.
  • Write characteristics traits one by one. Press Enter after each trait. (Notice "Pessimistic" character traits)
  • Select the sex of your companion.
  • Click "Submit" button to save the persona.

Note

The Characteristic are not required, but highly recommended.

The more detailed the persona, the more accurate the responses.

B. Start the Chat

  • Select the "New Chat" item from the sidebar.
  • Use the "Select Persona" dropdown to choose the persona you created. (Or, select the default persona)
  • Change the chat title if needed.
  • Click "Submit" button to redirect to chat screen.

C. Send a Message

  • In the chat screen, type a message in the bottom input field, and press enter to send it.
  • We ask the following question: "What are my chances of winning the lottery"
  • Observe the response from the companion based on the characteristics we set.

Note

Based on the pessimistic trait, the companion will respond with a negative attitude, even when asking the odds of a highly unlikely event such as winning the lottery.

D. Update the Persona

  • On the right side of the form, find the specific persona card you want to modify.
  • Click the edit icon on the top right side of that card.
  • Change the characteristics traits as needed.

Note

Notice we changed the "Pessimistic" trait to "Optimistic", that will change the companion's response accordingly.

E. Effect on Companion

  • We head back to the chat screen and ask the same question about winnning the lottery.
  • Observe the companion response now that we have changed the characteristics.

Note

The companion still answers the question realistically, but now with a more positive attitude!
